ORIENTATION WEEK September 21--25, 2009

Watch for daily updates!

Sunday, September 20 REQUIRED Orientation for International Students
See complete details on the event at the OIA web site:
https://internationalaffairs.uchicago.edu/students/admitted/orientation.shtml

Monday, September 21 Diagnostic Exam DUE
New students should pick up the diagnostic test from Kelly Macias or Matt Johnston in Eckhart 108 the week of September 14-18. You should answer as many questions as you can and give the test (along with your copy of the exam) to your advisor by 5:00 pm on Monday, September 21, or earlier if possible. Master’s students should set aside a total of 3 hours for the exam; PhD students, 6 hours. The purpose of the diagnostic test is to help your advisor better advise you on the courses you need to take, so you should not do last-minute preparation–just complete the test to the best of your current ability.

Monday, September 21–Friday, September 25—Au Qtr Course Registration
First-year students may register for classes after reviewing the diagnostic exam with their assigned academic advisor. Continuing students may register after meeting with their academic advisor. Registration for Autumn Quarter courses begins at 8:30 am on Monday, September 21, through noon on Friday, September 25. You will need your cNet ID to access the on-line system. If you have not claimed your ID, please do so. Course registration is not complete until the hard-copy departmental form, signed by the faculty, is turned in to Kelly Macias AND the online registration has been done by the student.
