English as a Second Language

If you will be a course assistant in the future and wonder about your ability to communicate in English, the Office of Graduate Affairs (OGA) can offer some advice. The OGA, together with the International House offer excellent fee-based classes run by the English Language Institute. You can call International House at (773) 753-2281 or ask Kelly Macias or Kathryn Kraynik for more information. Usually there are announcements posted around campus at the beginning of the quarter and your faculty advisor can make recommendations as necessary.
